I stumbled across this video a few moments ago. It’s interesting since it takes a look at the raw food lifestyle. I’m Vegan but consume a high amount of raw foods. If I were to base my diet on a percentage, I would say that 85% of my diet is raw foods. For about a year, I ate only raw foods.
Since I can remember, I’ve always been conscious of the foods that I ate. That was something that was imprinted on me early, starting with my parents although I wasn’t raised vegetarian, let alone vegan, fresh fruit, and vegetables were the main way we received our nutrition. As children my brother and I were rarely sick and we played a lot outdoors.
I’ve always had a lot of energy and I need it to keep up with my equally active daughter; however, I’ve noticed the more raws foods I eat the more energy I have. That’s amazin since I already have a lot of energy. I haven’t been sick in year, rarely get colds, the same applies to my daughter. She is now five years old and has only been sick four times in her life. Three of the times she became sick were linked to the vaccination shots she was given by her local health provider she doesn’t receive those anymore.
I’m an athlete and work out regularly. I work out daily, and lift weights at least four to five times weekly. I’m looking to enter a Figure competition soon.
I thought this was an excellent video. I’ve been a vegetarian sine 1992, and have been raising my daughter vegan since birth. She is now five years old, tall for her age, and extremely healthy. She visits the doctor regularly.
There is a lot of misinformation out there about vegans and especially vegan children. I educate people and tell them instead of automatically believing what you hear do some research for yourself.
I’ve seen the picture for this cartoon for a while however, I’ve never watched it until now. It’s very entertaining. Although I’m vegan I disagree with the notion that you have to be vegetarian or vegan in order to be healthy. I know some vegetarians and vegans who are unhealthy, and it’s largely due to how they eat.
Regardless of your eating habits you need to make healthy choices.
I loved watching Carl Lewis perform during his heydey and so I was happy to catch this video of him talking about veganism. Towards the end of the video you will see a quick vegan lasagna dish. It’s very simple to make. I’ve made something similar many times.
As an athlete I’ve been approached a lot about where I receive my protein. People automatically think you have to consume animals in order to receive protein. That’s simply not true. My protein sources are some fruits and vegetables, beans, and I occasionally eat tofu.
